Shimadzu Diagnostics Europe is the European subsidiary of Shimadzu Diagnostics Corporation Japan. Headquartered in Paris, SDE develops and markets microbiological detection products for Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs), biopharmaceuticals and the food industry.
In order to support our expansion in Europe, Middle East and Africa, SDE is recruiting an experienced salesperson to play a key role in the EMEA sales effort of the food microbial testing solutions.
Sales Representative EMEA
Mission of the role
The Sales Representative EMEA’s mission is to take ownership of the food microbial testing sales, ensuring that the business is consistently growing year on year and that clients’ expectations are met and wherever possible exceeded.
The Sales Representative EMEA will be a focused, dynamic, and tenacious salesperson with a strong hands- on experience in B2B and B2C sales in the food QC/QA testing environment.
Key responsibilities of the role
 Direct sales, B2B and B2C, in the food microbial detection market for the EMEA region. This involves both food manufacturers, food testing laboratories and distributor management.
 This will involve sales planning & projections (monthly/quarterly) in support of logistics requirements, as well as customer prospection, support, and follow-up.
 Feed into strategy for the EMEA markets and be the customer interface to support SDE product penetration.
 Work with the GM and Sales Director to deliver sustainable growth by personally taking ownership of the food testing side of the business, competitor intelligence and drive sales by a complete understanding of the food testing sector landscape.
 Nurture a collaborative approach to winning new contracts, work/interact with the food technical buyers, negotiating transfer price with the Sales Director.
This is a very hands-on role, both strategic and operational and with a very strong entrepreneurial mindset in a start-up mode company.
Ideal profile
 Someone who has solid international commercial experience in food microbial testing both prospection of new customers and ensuring customer retention.
 Extensive sales experience: B2C (food companies and food testing labs) and B2B (national and international distributors).

 Demonstrated ability to identify key gaps and engage customers (industry/institutions) with high potential revenues.
 Broad cultural orientation, experience of working in an international environment.

Qualifications & Experience
 Academic degree level or higher.
 At least 5 years’ experience in a European sales food QC/QA position.
 A successful track record within a food/life science company with a similar product offering, with success in a hands-on sales role.
 Experience of working with a marketing and sales team to drive leads and generate new business.
 High level of English is an absolute requirement.

A compensation package will be offered to the successful candidate that will be commensurate to skills and experience and aligned with the market.
